About Shirley
I am an impact-driven university technology transfer professional, who have business development, sales and inventory management experience in an allergy immunotherapy startup and a proven track record of identifying and nurturing promising startups. I have a PhD in Biological Sciences from Nanyang Technological University, a Master in Community Leadership and Social Development from Singapore University of Social Sciences, a Bachelor in Accounting and Business Law from Murdoch University, a Graduate Diploma in Economics from University of London, a Specialist Diploma in Clinical Trial Management from Nanyang Polytechnic, a Specialist Diploma in Digital Marketing and Analytics from Singapore Polytechnic and a Specialist Diploma in Business Analytics. I am a recipient of Commonwealth Scholarship, Nanyang Research Scholarship and SIM University Social Resilience Enhancement Fund, a Distinguished Toastmasters, and a certified patent valuation analyst. I was one of 38 participants recently selected from over 300 global applications for a patent drafting course conducted by World Intellectual Property Organisation. Beyond my role at the technology transfer office, I am an active member of the national IP expert group, a mentor at the Action Community for Entrepreneurship (a Singapore trade association for startups), and a judge at various start-up competitions. Additionally she helps startups with their IP strategies.
