TriBus, the Startup Making Every Drop Count in Sustainable Farming

Globally, 80% of irrigation farmers tend to over-water their crops due to the lack of real-time monitoring beneath the soil.

Founded by Emile Jordan, TriBus, an Agri-Tech pioneer in our FoodTech Tasmania 2023 Program, is redefining the agricultural landscape by optimising food production and helping farmers make every water drop count. They do this by empowering the farmer community to optimise irrigation water and fertiliser usage in order to prevent fertiliser leaching into waterways.

Environmental Challenge and Agricultural Efficiency

TriBus has a specific mission: preventing fertiliser leaching beyond the root zone, ensuring it doesn't seep into waterways. By doing so, they not only protect the environment but also assist farmers in saving resources like electricity, irrigation water, and fertiliser.

With the global fertiliser market estimated at nearly US$200 billion annually, saving a 5% fraction of this through preventing leaching would resolve a massive US$10 billion issue.

The Excitement of Expanding to Tasmania, Australia

Tasmania aims to reach a farmgate value of $10 billion by 2050, which increases pressure on water resources and the need for improved production efficiency. This aligns with TriBus's mission, providing an opportunity to introduce their innovative US technology to help Tasmanian farmers adopt more efficient irrigation practices.

Impacting Agriculture’s Future with Vision and Innovation

TriBus isn’t just another player in the field, they are a startup aiming for a paradigm shift. Their future goal? Embedding their technology in 50% of irrigation farms over the next decade. Imagine farmers equipped with real-time data on soil conditions, making every drop count, and ensuring zero leaching!

As TriBus continues to drive innovation and progress in the Agri-Tech sector, they are a startup set to revolutionise the way farmers utilise resources.

Tribus is not just about better farming, it’s also about supporting a sustainable future.
