How Money20/20 Asia and Startupbootcamp Accelerated Inaam’s Journey 📊📈

Inside Inaam’s Acceleration: A Q&A with Arjun Agarwal

Question: Tell us about your journey with Startupbootcamp and how Inaam has benefited from it.

Arjun: My personal journey with Startupbootcamp has been incredible. We were part of the Startupbootcamp Sustainable Fintech Accelerator, and it was probably the best thing we could have done for the business.

The program gave us access to mentors, advisors, and investors who had already built successful fintechs. That kind of guidance was invaluable. It really helped us understand the weight of our core assumptions (whether they were true or not), and the steps we needed to take to turn Inaam from a concept into what it has now become.

Question: Money20/20 Asia in 2024 was a milestone for Inaam. Can you share more about that experience?

Arjun: Money20/20 Asia in 2024 was a huge milestone for us. It was an incredible opportunity to connect with diverse investors, industry leaders, and even attend a visit to the Governor of Australia’s house.

What stood out the most for me was the openness and willingness of people to meet and engage. It opened my eyes to how risk-tolerant investors behave and the different kinds of opportunities available to expand into APAC and other parts of the world.

The exposure we gained from being on the Money20/20 Asia stage was transformative. It gave us the credibility to speak to our current investors, who helped us close our fundraising round, and to incoming customers, who saw the merit and global recognition of our model.

One moment that really stuck with me was when a group of founders I’ve supported over the years saw my picture from Money20/20 Asia and called it a “masterclass in pitching.” That recognition didn’t happen overnight. It was the result of months of preparation, much of it through Startupbootcamp and Money20/20 Asia.

Question: For Startups considering applying to the Startup & Investor Park, how would you describe the impact it has had?

Arjun: Having a booth at Money20/20 Asia was such an important milestone for us. It allowed us to validate that our ideal customer profile exists not just in the Australian context but also globally.

We were able to stress-test our business model in a hypergrowth macroeconomic environment, particularly in Southeast Asia, and realize that it holds up. That realization further solidified our mission, vision, and passion to scale globally and become the place where people go to invest in impact.

For any Startup considering the Startup & Investor Park, I’d say it’s not just about showcasing your product—it’s about understanding what you want to achieve. For us, it was about finding investors and validating our model, and we achieved both.
