      About Pecus Chain

      The problem we're solving:

Dairy diseases generate over €56 billion in global losses each year, primarily due to reduced milk production. Health issues create significant downtime gaps in dairy operations, interrupting production and generating major inefficiencies across the farm. Beyond economic losses, this downtime also leads to a deterioration in animal welfare and longevity. Today, the average dairy cow remains productive for only about avg.2.8 lactations (approximately 4 years) before being removed from the herd.

      Our solution:

Pecus Chain builds an AI-powered decision intelligence layer for dairy farms by structuring farm data into a unified ontology and applying predictive models to anticipate major dairy diseases. The platform enables early intervention, helping farmers extend the number of lactations of dairy cows and reduce antibiotic use. Through real-time alerts and LLM-powered explanations, complex data is transformed into actionable recommendations, turning farm monitoring into a practical decision-support.

      Our differentiator:

Our solution doesn't provide data analytics that farmers must interpret themselves, without offering real decision support for herd management. Pecus Chain aims to industrialize the decision-making process, transforming raw farm data into actionable recommendations that improve efficiency and farm outcomes. In addition, no existing solutions on the market provide predictive models capable of anticipating diseases 48 hours in advance while also suggesting optimized antibiotic usage strategies.

      Our biggest achievement:

We are able to automatically collect data from major tech providers and national animal health portals. The platform is already in use on 5 pilot farms, which are very satisfied because it integrates production, economic, and health data in a single system. We have just started a collaboration with AIA (Italian Breeders Association). Our first prototype is operational and currently delivers results for 3,000 monitored animals. For mastitis, we generate about 500 data alerts per day.
